NTT DOCOMO STUDIO & LIVE, INC. and TV Chosun announced an agreement to produce a Japanese version of the audition program "Mr. Trot" at the contract signing ceremony held at Busan Content Market (BCM) 2024 in Busan, Korea, on Wednesday, May 22, 2012.

Trot is a music genre so widely popular in Korea that it has become almost as popular as K-POP.

The station's survival audition program "Mr. Trot," which sparked the trot boom in recent years, has gained fans among the younger generation as well as among those in their 40s and 50s, and achieved an astounding 35.7% viewer rating, breaking the record for the highest viewer rating of any Korean audition program in history and creating a huge It also brought about a major trot move.
