NTT Docomo Studio & Live, Inc. announced at a contract signing ceremony held at Busan Content Market (BCM) 2024, which is being held in Busan, South Korea from Wednesday, May 22nd, that it has reached an agreement with TV Chosun to produce a Japanese version of the audition program "Tomorrow is Mr. Trot."

Trot is a music genre that is so popular in Korea that it rivals K-POP in popularity.

The network's survival audition program "Tomorrow's Mr. Trot," which sparked the recent trot boom, is mainly aimed at people in their 40s and 50s, but has also gained fans among younger generations. It achieved an astonishing peak viewership rating of 35.7%, breaking the all-time record for viewership ratings of any audition program in Korea, and brought about a major trot movement.
